What we set, and why.

We keep this site deliberately light. Ortent does not run advertising cookies and does not sell or share data with third-party advertisers. The cookies we do use are listed below.

Cookies set by this site

None directly. The cookies listed below are set by the third-party services described in the next section.

Third-party services

The following external services support this site and may set cookies in your browser when you interact with them:

• Microsoft Clarity (analytics, session replay, heatmaps). Sets cookies in the _clck and _clsk families to recognise returning visitors and stitch sessions together. All form fields and personal data are masked by default. No personally identifiable information is collected. Retention 13 months. Clarity does not sell or share data with third parties. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
• Netlify (hosting and server-side analytics). Netlify does not set client-side cookies for analytics. Aggregate traffic data is derived from CDN logs and retained for 30 days. Netlify may set short-lived security cookies as part of normal operation.
• Substack (newsletter platform). When you click through to our Substack publication or use the embedded subscribe form, Substack may set its own cookies. See substack.com/privacy.
• Google Fonts (web fonts). Font files are loaded from Google's CDN to render the typography on this site. Google may log the IP address for the request. No cookies are set by the font request itself.

Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from specific sites. You can opt out of Microsoft Clarity through your browser's privacy settings or by using a tracking-protection extension. Blocking Clarity will not affect site functionality. Blocking Substack cookies will not affect the signup form but you may see duplicate prompts.
