Equality and diversity statement.

Last updated: 5 May 2026.

Ortent Advisory Ltd ("Ortent", "we", "us") is committed to the principles of the UK Equality Act 2010. We treat everyone we work with — clients, sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, prospective hires — fairly and on the merits of the engagement, free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation.

This statement is published voluntarily. Statutory equality and diversity reporting (gender pay gap, ethnicity pay gap, board representation reporting) applies to organisations significantly larger than Ortent. We publish this statement to make our position visible to clients, partners and procurement counterparts.

1. The standards we hold

Ortent does not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Those characteristics include:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race, including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origin
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation

This applies to every part of how Ortent operates: who we engage as sub-contractors and suppliers, who we work with on client engagements, who we introduce into roles via our network, and who we invite into the practice as the business grows.

2. How this shows up in the work

  • Hiring and engagement. Sub-contractors, advisors and any future hires are selected on capability, fit for the engagement, and operator credibility. We do not consider protected characteristics in those decisions.
  • Client work. We bring the same standard of care, challenge and responsiveness to every client. Where a client asks us to act in a way that would breach this statement, we decline.
  • Network and introductions. A core part of Ortent's value is the network we open to clients (the "introduce" job of a NED, the partner introductions of a fractional CGO). The shortlists we present are constructed on the substantive merits of each candidate or partner, and we are conscious that a credible shortlist for a board, an advisor role or a partner relationship benefits from breadth of background and perspective.
  • Accessibility. The Ortent website is built on accessible standards (semantic HTML, WCAG-compliant colour contrast, keyboard-navigable nav, viewport-aware layouts). If you encounter an accessibility issue on this site, please report it via the contact form and we will fix it.

3. Reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability, neurodivergence or any access need that affects how you'd prefer to engage with Ortent — meeting format, communication channels, written materials, accessible documents — tell us up front and we will adapt.

4. Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour by Ortent or anyone acting on our behalf that does not meet the standard set out in this statement, raise it via our contact form or directly to legal@ortent.co. Concerns will be reviewed by the Principal and acted on appropriately. We will not retaliate against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

5. Review

This statement is reviewed annually by the Principal of Ortent Advisory Ltd, and updated as needed. Material updates are noted at the top of the page.
