Amgen
Ortent Life Sciences Radar, research beta. Evidence to 6 October 2026, rule set v0.4.3. Scope: AI and computation in drug discovery (T1), and research-lab digitalisation and scientific data systems (T2). Amgen is in scope as a whole company under the cohort 2 scope note, so deCODE genetics, a wholly owned subsidiary that is not separately listed, is included. Each ID in brackets links to its online source, and the source index at the end of this brief lists them.
Disclosure: Andrew Wyatt, Ortent's principal, was Chief Growth Officer at Sapio Sciences until April 2026. Software vendors, including Sapio and its competitors, appear in this brief only where public sources name them.
Status: research beta. Ortent has reviewed this brief; it has not been independently validated. It summarises activity identified in public sources. Search coverage varies by company and is set out under Coverage limits, and zero identified items does not mean no activity. It does not predict buying intent or measure operational maturity. For this radar, process and CMC development are grouped with manufacturing and excluded from the research-lab theme (T2); such work appears as context where it helps.
Summary
The reviewed sources identify two T1 initiatives with an AI-discovery commitment change involving Amgen first disclosed in the year to 5 October 2026, and none in the year before [>AMGN-E18, >E20]. They are a combined executive role for Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence and Data, and $125 million small-molecule discovery labs in South San Francisco that combine high-throughput automation and robotics with machine learning in a design-make-test-analyze cycle. The adjudicator lists both as not settled. In T2, the sources identify the South San Francisco labs in the year to 5 October 2026 [>AMGN-E20]. A centre for science and innovation at Thousand Oaks, announced in the year to 4 October 2025 with more than $600 million of planned investment, is process development under the v0.4.3 theme 2 boundary and is recorded as context, not as a T2 commitment [>AMGN-E16]. The 6 October recruitment snapshot contains 30 relevant R&D requisition postings across the two themes, none with ambiguous vacancy status [the 30 R&D theme postings among >AMGN-R001 to >R034]. These observations identify programmes and functions for further investigation; they do not establish procurement opportunity, deployment completion or net hiring.
Announced commitments
| First public | What was announced | Terms disclosed | Issued by | First Amgen confirmation | ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Sep 2025 | Process development context, not counted (v0.4.3 theme 2 boundary). Plans to invest in a new centre for science and innovation at Amgen's Thousand Oaks headquarters, designed to bring researchers, engineers and scientists together; "The building will feature advanced automation and digital capabilities" | More than $600 million | Amgen (press release, amgen.com newsroom) | Same release | AMGN-E16 |
| 22 Apr 2026 | Organisation changes effective 1 June 2026, under which James Bradner "will serve as executive vice president, Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence and Data"; the release ties the changes to convergent innovation, which uses AI "to accelerate the discovery and development of new medicines" | None | Amgen (press release, amgen.com newsroom) | Same release | AMGN-E18 |
| 6 May 2026 | Company story describing new small-molecule discovery labs in South San Francisco of about 50,000 square feet for more than 100 scientists, with high-throughput automation and robotics; in the Analyze step scientists "apply modeling and machine learning where appropriate" | $125 million investment | Amgen (company story, amgen.com) | Same story | AMGN-E20 |
Amgen published all three items itself [>AMGN-E16, >E18, >E20]. We identified no partner-announced or jointly issued AI-discovery or lab-systems deal involving Amgen in either year in the searched sources.
Under rule set v0.4.2 the Thousand Oaks centre counted in T2, because the release states automation and digital capabilities in an R&D building and states no AI [>AMGN-E16]. An Amgen story of 31 October 2025 reports the groundbreaking and says the facility will integrate Research & Development and Process Development teams to support the move from drug discovery to commercial manufacturing [>AMGN-E17]. The principal review of 7 October 2026 holds the centre out of theme 2 as process development, so under the v0.4.3 boundary the announcement and the groundbreaking are recorded as context and are not counted [>AMGN-E16, >E17]. The release says the building "will feature" automation and digital capabilities, so it records intent, not deployment.
The executive role counts in T1 under clarification C42-7, because the release ties the combined remit to AI "to accelerate the discovery and development of new medicines", and recon rule 1 counts an appointment to a newly created role [>AMGN-E18]. Bradner already held the R&D executive vice president post in May 2025 [>AMGN-E31]. The adjudicator recorded the row as borderline and lists it as not settled: it is an existing executive under a newly combined title. If the retitled role is not read as a newly created role, the row stops counting, and T1 in W1 would be zero by event date and one by first disclosure.
The South San Francisco labs are tagged to both themes: T2 for high-throughput automation and robotics in Amgen's own discovery labs, and T1 for the modelling and machine learning in the Analyze step [>AMGN-E20]. The story describes labs already in use, so the lifecycle is operational. It gives no investment or opening date, so the event window is uncertain and the row counts only by first disclosure, in W1. The adjudicator lists the class of this row as not settled: both reviewers read a capacity item first seen in a dated story with no announcement as a new commitment, which is how the table records it, but it could instead be a newly observed capability. The counts table lists these labs (AMGN-I10) as the only T2 initiative first disclosed in W1 and as one of the two T1 initiatives first disclosed in W1, so the reading decides those two counts. No earlier release was found in the press archive, and the search to check for an earlier announcement was not run.
By event date, we counted no T1 initiative with a qualifying commitment change in W0 (5 October 2024 to 4 October 2025) and one in W1 (5 October 2025 to 5 October 2026), the executive role [>AMGN-E18]. By first disclosure, T1 is zero in W0 and two in W1, adding the South San Francisco labs, whose event date is uncertain [>AMGN-E20]. T2 is zero in W0 in both views; the Thousand Oaks centre, counted there under rule set v0.4.2, is now process development context [>AMGN-E16]. In W1, T2 is zero by event date and one by first disclosure, the South San Francisco labs, which are tagged to both themes and so also appear in T1 [>AMGN-E20]. No T2 milestone was disclosed in either year; the groundbreaking moved to context with the centre [>AMGN-E17]. Existing capabilities first disclosed numbered one in each theme in W0 [>AMGN-E08, >E12], and four in T1 and two in T2 in W1 [>AMGN-E07, >E09, >E10, >E13]; two of these are tagged to both themes [>AMGN-E07, >E13]. These have no stated start date and are not counted as changes. We identified no qualifying negative change in either theme. Under the opposite reading of borderline clarification C42-4, counting the Amgen Scholars programme at IIIT Hyderabad as a company-funded programme with stated AI drug-discovery scope, T1 in W1 would be two by event date and three by first disclosure [>AMGN-E37].
The coverage table marks every cell as comparable between the years, because each search family has the same status in W0 and W1. Read as a difference in what the searches found, not in company activity, the searches found T1 changes only in W1, and a T2 change in W0 in both views and in W1 by first disclosure only. Both W1 T1 items are the unsettled rows described above. Three search families are partial in both years (see Coverage limits).
Identified recruitment
On 6 October 2026 the careers.amgen.com sitemap listed 1,521 job listings. Both reviewers applied the same title filter, which selected the same 151 listings, and each added two postings from outside the filter; the table classifies the 154 postings in their union from their duties. We observed 30 relevant requisition postings in the R&D theme class [the 30 R&D theme postings among >AMGN-R001 to >R034]. The T1 split is 21 and the T2 split is 14; the five roles tagged both appear in each split [>AMGN-R004, >R006, >R012, >R027, >R032]. No Amgen posting shows an openings field, so vacancy status is not recorded for any of the 30 and none has ambiguous vacancy status. A further 77 are enterprise roles, 17 are plant, quality or manufacturing roles, 9 are internships or graduate placements, 2 are postdoctoral research roles and 19 are out of scope. These are requisition postings listed on one day, not hires, headcount or a trend.
Twenty of the 30 postings are in Hyderabad, India. Eight are in Thousand Oaks or South San Francisco, and the others are a Digital Discovery role in Burnaby, Canada, and a role listed in Washington, DC [>AMGN-R006, >R025].
The T1 postings describe AI and computation roles in discovery: - in Hyderabad, three agentic AI roles: a lead for protein design and molecular engineering, a lead for disease biology and target discovery, and a senior ML engineer building agentic systems for protein engineering, structure prediction, disease biology and target identification [>AMGN-R002, R003, >R001]; and an agentic AI role in discovery chemistry [>AMGN-R020] - in the AI & Data for Engineered Biologics team in Large Molecule Discovery (LMD), Hyderabad, an ML engineer to bring predictive models into production and two senior data scientists to build property-prediction and protein foundation models [>AMGN-R016, >R017, >R018] - in LMD, Hyderabad, an AI/ML governance and operations role in LMD informatics, an NGS algorithm developer and a protein structure ML modeller [>AMGN-R010, >R013, >R028] - a computational protein design scientist in South San Francisco to automate ML protein design workflows for binder generation [>AMGN-R007] - human data and computational biology roles in Inflammation and Rare Disease research in Thousand Oaks, and an Inflammation scientist in South San Francisco who applies computational and AI-enabled approaches to target discovery [>AMGN-R024, >R031, >R022] - two borderline roles: a bench target-discovery scientist who will routinely use AI-enabled tools (C42-20), and a Bioinformatics & AI Engineer in Precision Medicine whose duties name target identification (C42-21) [>AMGN-R029, >R034]
The five postings tagged both are in LMD and Discovery Proteomics. In Hyderabad, a principal scientist leads "a horizontally integrated AI enablement team" to move AI/ML models into production within LMD informatics systems, and two roles build ML-ready scientific datasets and protein data pipelines [>AMGN-R004, >R012, >R027]. A Digital Discovery role in Burnaby works on how biologics discovery data are captured, analysed and reused, and a proteomics role in South San Francisco builds data pipelines and tools for target evaluation [>AMGN-R006, >R032].
The T2 postings describe lab systems and research data roles: - a Biological Studies LIMS team in Hyderabad, with a software engineer and a scientific business analyst [>AMGN-R008, >R019] - in LMD, Hyderabad, a business owner for data automation covering instrument integration and data capture, and an NGS data standardisation role [>AMGN-R011, >R014] - a Data Science Senior Director to lead the Research Data Enablement Hub and set the data strategy for Research, partnering with R&D Tech and Enterprise Data Strategy and Engineering [>AMGN-R033] - a semantic software engineer to "maintain, operate, and enhance the new Research Taxonomy Foundation", and a product manager for the R&D Data Catalyst team's data management tools [>AMGN-R009, >R005] - a senior scientist to lead automation for target discovery screening in Thousand Oaks, and a business owner for molecular biology digital tools and data in biologics discovery [>AMGN-R030, >R025]
Four Process Development postings that rule set v0.4.2 counted in T2 are process development under the v0.4.3 theme 2 boundary, so they are now out of scope and not counted: in Hyderabad, within Process Development's Transformative Digital Capabilities organisation, a product owner for a digital lab platform and two AI and data science roles [AMGN-R015, >R023, >R026], and a data scientist in Process Development's Digital Process and Systems Analysis group, listed across many US locations, for drug-substance modelling and the digitisation of tech-transfer workflows [>AMGN-R021].
Two postdoctoral fellowships at deCODE genetics in Reykjavik, combining AI and statistical genetics for drug target discovery, and a graduate co-op in computational safety modelling for small molecules are tagged T1 but are outside the R&D count [>AMGN-R035, >R036, >R045]. Enterprise postings include roles in an enterprise AI Studio [>AMGN-R081, >R082] and a Director, AI & Machine Learning, to advance "Amgen Research's AI capabilities", classed as enterprise under C42-21 because its duties name no discovery activity [>AMGN-R118]. The adjudicator notes that a T2 reading of that role was not taken; it would raise the R&D theme count by one. The boundary between enterprise and out-of-scope roles for commercial and supply-chain data science is also not settled; it affects 22 rows, none of them an R&D theme role.
No Amgen careers page shows a date-posted field. Dates in the embedded job data may record a refresh, so they are not reliable.
No LinkedIn company insights were collected for Amgen.
Technology mentions in recruitment
Mentions are classified from the exact posting wording. They do not establish installation, an incumbent contract or company-wide use. The table records 211 Amgen mentions: 3 explicit use, 3 integration or environment, 12 required experience, 45 preferred experience, 2 planned implementation, 144 alternatives and 2 unclear. - Named as existing systems: the Research Controlled Vocabulary Foundation, an Amgen internal platform that the semantic engineer is to maintain and operate [>AMGN-R009]. The two Biological Studies LIMS postings say "This team implements LIMS platforms" for pre-clinical and clinical studies; the table records this category as explicit use because both reviewers read it as Amgen's own systems, and the bundle checker warns on both rows. No LIMS product is named. This is role-specific wording [>AMGN-R008, >R019]. - Integration responsibilities: cloud and GPU infrastructure for the Bioinformatics & AI Engineer [>AMGN-R034], and cloud technology for the LIMS software engineer [>AMGN-R008]. No product is named. - Required experience: Hugging Face and AWS SageMaker [>AMGN-R034], cloud platforms for data engineering [>AMGN-R009] and Python [>AMGN-R001, >R023]. - Preferred experience: AWS [>AMGN-R008, >R011, >R032], Databricks and MLflow [>AMGN-R027] and LIMS for NGS data capture [>AMGN-R014]. - Planned implementation: MLOps foundations and CI/CD pipelines for production ML services [>AMGN-R016]. - Lists of examples: Benchling, Revvity Signals, Dotmatics, LabVantage, LabWare, Scitara and TetraScience as laboratory solutions [>AMGN-R011]; Benchling, IDBS, STARLIMS and LabVantage among LIMS/ELN platforms [>AMGN-R008]; STARLIMS and LabVantage among LIMS platforms [>AMGN-R019]; Benchling, ELNs or LIMS [>AMGN-R006]; ELN and LIMS as digital lab platforms [AMGN-R015]; HighRes Cellario as scheduling software, with HighRes, BlueCat and Beckman Coulter (Labcyte) Echo instruments [>AMGN-R030]; AlphaFold, ProteinMPNN and RFdiffusion [>AMGN-R007]; RFdiffusion or Boltzgen, and PyTorch or JAX [>AMGN-R028]; LangGraph, LangChain, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker and Azure AI [>AMGN-R001]; RDKit and electronic laboratory notebooks [>AMGN-R020]; Spotfire, Tableau and Power BI [>AMGN-R021, >R026]. - Unclear: MLOps, named only in a field description [>AMGN-R027].
No ELN or LIMS product is named as in use in the R&D postings, and apart from the LIMS category above no category is recorded as explicit use. Rows found by one reviewer keep that reviewer's convention, so some lists inside qualification sections are recorded as preferred experience rather than alternatives.
Deployment evidence
- An Amgen story of 2 December 2025 says Amgen has developed an integrated "design → make → test → learn" generative loop, "where AI and automation continuously refine each other", and that "This loop has already tripled the speed of protein engineering and cut discovery timelines in half" [>AMGN-E07]. It also reports a viscosity prediction model with "approximately 80% accuracy in internal evaluations". These are the company's own statements; the story does not say how the speed and timeline figures were measured or over what period. Its start date is not stated.
- A May 2026 story names Marti Head as Associate Vice President, Automation, Research Data Systems, Informatics, and AI, whose team "applies protein and chemistry language models and other AI-enabled design approaches to drug discovery" [>AMGN-E13]. No creation or appointment date is given.
- An Amgen story of April 2025 says "Freyja", an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD at Amgen's research facility in Iceland, is used with AI and machine learning to analyse omics data and prioritise drug targets [>AMGN-E05]. NVIDIA had said in January 2024 that the system "will be installed" [>AMGN-E04]. The installation date is not stated.
- An undated NVIDIA customer story says Amgen trained protein language models, including five antibody-specific models, on its proprietary antibody data using BioNeMo on DGX Cloud [>AMGN-E06]. This is a vendor source quoting Amgen; a January 2024 NVIDIA blog already reported that Amgen researchers were accessing BioNeMo.
- The FY2024 and FY2025 Forms 10-K say Amgen is applying AI to its R&D activities, including its human data efforts and its generative biology platform [>AMGN-E08, >E09]. The 2025 shareholder letter, published on 31 March 2026, says Amgen's AI platforms "help identify genetically validated targets, generate novel proteins and predict how drug candidates will perform before they reach the lab" [>AMGN-E10]. The 10-K first-public dates rest on a PDF creation date and a signature date, so they are marked uncertain.
- A November 2024 story describes the Research & Automation Technologies team, which "develops novel lab automation software and hardware to tackle challenges that currently have no commercially available solutions" [>AMGN-E12].
- The South San Francisco labs story describes the labs in the present tense, with automation teams and data science working beside chemistry and biology [>AMGN-E20].
- Postings first seen on 6 October 2026 describe the Research Data Enablement Hub and "the new Research Taxonomy Foundation" [>AMGN-E14, >E15]. They fall after W1 and are not counted.
- Apart from the stated figures in the December 2025 story, we found no adoption or benefit metric for any of these items in the reviewed sources [>AMGN-E07].
Context
James Bradner was R&D executive vice president in May 2025, when he spoke on AI in drug discovery [>AMGN-E31]. An Amgen story of 18 May 2026, before the new role took effect, still calls him R&D executive vice president and quotes him: "We're using artificial intelligence to guide us to new insights and new targets to prevent disease" [>AMGN-E32]. The April 2026 release also announced the retirement of David Reese, executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer, effective 30 June 2026, and named Sean Bruich senior vice president, Chief Technology Officer, an enterprise technology role with no stated discovery remit [>AMGN-E19]. An August 2025 Amgen story gives Bruich's earlier title as SVP, Artificial Intelligence and Data [>AMGN-E21]. A trade article of 26 May 2026 reports the appointment of a Director, AI & Data Science COE, with no appointment date [>AMGN-E25]. The FY2024 Form 10-K says Amgen established an AI Governance Council of cross-functional leaders that "oversees the safe adoption of third-party AI services" [>AMGN-E22].
Enterprise AI: Amgen was an early adopter of ChatGPT Enterprise and scaled access across the company (story of 7 August 2025) [>AMGN-E21]. Its Patient Access and Reimbursement team began using an AI agent from Infinitus Systems for benefit verification (November 2025) [>AMGN-E24]. The 2024 shareholder letter says Amgen is "now employing artificial intelligence to enhance drug discovery, accelerate drug development, optimize clinical trials, and improve manufacturing efficiency"; under C42-9 this list across functions is enterprise context [>AMGN-E30]. Amgen announced a technology and innovation site in Hyderabad in August 2024, before both windows, to "accelerate digital capabilities across the global organization", for up to 3,000 people [>AMGN-E35]. Clinical development AI includes the ATOMIC trial-site enrolment model and AI-enabled digital twins [>AMGN-E26, >E27]. Robots are in use at manufacturing sites [>AMGN-E29].
Sites and programmes: On 12 August 2026 Amgen announced plans for a Science and Innovation Center at Genome Valley, Hyderabad, expected to be operational in 2027 [>AMGN-E36]. It names no lab system or AI work, so it is context; the adjudicator notes it is borderline T2. A media report of 30 July 2026 describes the launch of an Amgen Foundation undergraduate summer research programme at IIIT Hyderabad, with an inaugural cohort of 10 scholars, covering AI and machine learning in science and drug discovery; it is recorded as workforce context, not as a C42-4 programme [>AMGN-E37]. The 2025 Amgen x NSG Golden Ticket went to a bioconjugation start-up with no stated AI platform [>AMGN-E38]. Amgen appears on the Pistoia Alliance member list and among the Structural Genomics Consortium's funding members; both pages are undated and show no system deployed into Amgen's workflows [>AMGN-E40, >E41].
Rows recorded as exclude, because their sources state no AI, computational or lab-systems content: the appointment of Howard Chang as senior vice president of Research from December 2024 [>AMGN-E42], the acquisition of Dark Blue Therapeutics in January 2026 [>AMGN-E43], a DNA-encoded library screening story [>AMGN-E44], and Amgen's notice in August 2026 to terminate its 2023 research collaboration with TScan Therapeutics [>AMGN-E45].
We identified no qualifying pause or cancellation in the two themes in the searched sources. The negative-event search family is complete for both themes and both years, but two Fierce Biotech articles on R&D job cuts returned 403, so their dates and content are unverified, and one reviewer's generated summary dated one of them to 7 November 2017. That is a search result, not evidence that none occurred.
Coverage limits
- Complete in both themes and both years: the company press release archive, the annual report and 10-K, consortium and public-private partnerships, academic collaborations, one web search per event type, and the negative-event search per theme. A family is complete where at least one reviewer ran every listed search. For T2, the per-event-type family is complete through one reviewer only: the other did not run its T2 vendor and partnership search (Benchling, TetraScience, ELN, LIMS, lab automation) because of the search budget, and the reviewer who completed the family ran the same terms combined with its capacity search.
- Partial in both themes and both years: results presentations and transcripts, partner newswires, and the corporate venture arm. investors.amgen.com blocked both reviewers, so results slides, webcasts and transcripts were not read; only the quarterly results releases and earnings highlight stories on amgen.com were. Business Wire returned 403 and GlobeNewswire returned no data; one Business Wire item returned by a search was not fetched. amgenventures.com was unreachable, so the Amgen Ventures portfolio was not enumerated.
- Not run because the search budget was spent: earnings call transcript searches for both years, site-restricted Business Wire and GlobeNewswire searches, and two Amgen Ventures searches (financing rounds, and AI or computational portfolio companies). The adjudicator also lists a re-check for an earlier announcement of the South San Francisco labs and a Fierce Biotech search for research layoffs as searches still to run.
- One reviewer found that the amgen.com sitemap omitted at least two PR Newswire India releases, so the press archive may be incomplete.
- SEC EDGAR blocked both reviewers. The 10-K text was read from the annual report PDFs on amgen.com, and their first-public dates are uncertain [>AMGN-E08, >E09, >E22].
- Other blocked or unreadable sources: the IHI site (403), two Fierce Biotech articles (403), a Scrip article whose robots.txt could not be read, and a hyper.ai page that served only script. A Seeking Alpha item on a real-time clinical trials pilot returned 403 and rests only on a generated summary, so AMGN-E28 is not verified and is not used.
- Five undated pages have no first-public date and are excluded from both count views: the AI in R&D page, the AI vision page, the start-up network page and the two consortium lists [>AMGN-E11, >E23, >E39, >E40, >E41].
- Rows drawn from job postings take 6 October 2026 as their first public date, because no page shows a date-posted field [>AMGN-E14, >E15].
- Patents are not among the searched source families in the coverage table. Publication counts are raw Europe PMC query counts and are not events.
- Recruitment: the 1,521 listings were title-screened, not read in full. Only the 154 postings classified are in the table, so theme roles with titles the filter did not match may be missing.
- Two independent reviewers searched Amgen, and the final rows are their source-verified union. Both reviewers found all three rows that count in W0 or W1. The union does not show that both did not miss the same events. The Amgen Scholars programme and the TScan termination were found by one reviewer, and the research-data postings and the NVIDIA customer story by the other [>AMGN-E37, >E45, >E14, >E15, >E06].
Two questions to investigate (Ortent's interpretation)
- Lab systems and research data roles sit in several units: a Biological Studies LIMS team [>AMGN-R008, >R019], LMD informatics roles for data automation, scientific data and AI enablement [>AMGN-R011, >R012, >R004], the Research Data Enablement Hub, which partners with R&D Tech and Enterprise Data Strategy and Engineering [>AMGN-R033, >E14], a Semantic Graph Team running the Research Taxonomy Foundation [>AMGN-R009, >E15], the Research & Automation Technologies team [>AMGN-E12] and an AVP for Automation, Research Data Systems, Informatics, and AI [>AMGN-E13]. Process Development's Transformative Digital Capabilities organisation also recruits for lab platform and data roles, which are process development outside T2 under the v0.4.3 boundary [AMGN-R015, >R023, >R026]. The postings name LIMS and ELN products only as examples [>AMGN-R008, >R011, >R019]. What is the remit of each unit for lab informatics, automation and research data platforms? Who decides on LIMS, ELN and data platform choices, and how are the interfaces between Research, R&D Tech, Enterprise Data Strategy and Engineering and Process Development governed, including in fitting out the South San Francisco labs and the Thousand Oaks centre, which is now recorded as process development context [>AMGN-E20, >E16, >E17]?
- From June 2026 one executive holds a combined R&D, AI and Data remit, while a separate Chief Technology Officer holds the enterprise technology role [>AMGN-E18, >E19]. Discovery AI roles sit in LMD and in Hyderabad agentic AI teams [>AMGN-R016, >R017, >R018, >R002, R003], an enterprise AI Studio is recruiting [>AMGN-R081, >R082], and a Director, AI & Machine Learning, is to advance Research's AI capabilities [>AMGN-R118]. Amgen has used NVIDIA compute and BioNeMo on DGX Cloud for discovery work [>AMGN-E05, >E06], and an AI Governance Council oversees the adoption of third-party AI services [>AMGN-E22]. Who holds decision rights over buying a third-party AI discovery tool or compute rather than building in-house, does the Governance Council's review apply to discovery tools, and how is funding for these decisions set under the new organisation?
